General Manager Brandi Brandes, General Manager, oversees the organizational operations of LEVYdance. Brandi joins LEVYdance by way of the Climate Theater (Resident Artist/Composer), SFJAZZ (Operations Manager), SF State Music & Dance (Department Manager). Her management style, music, and life are founded in an affinity for organized chaos and energetic creative people, and she is most content at the center of a maelstrom of creative ideas. Brandi's arts management and creative history began on the road in a renovated former MUNI bus with a self-managed rock band, and evolved through a Music B.A. from San Francisco State University, management of SF State's School of Music and Dance, directorship of the American College Dance Festival conference in San Francisco, orchestra and ensemble performances, musical scores composition for theatrical productions at the Magic Theater, the Brava! Theater, and the Climate Theater, Operations Management at the San Francisco Jazz Organization, production and management for many independent artists and events, a general gravitation towards artistic people and organizations, and an insuppressible need to get "under the hood" and get involved with the mechanics of realizing creative vision.
