LEVYdance Company

Aline Wachsmuth (Dancer) graduated Magna Cum Laude from Florida State University with a B.F.A in Dance in 2008. In 2007, Ms. Wachsmuth received the Undergraduate Research and Creative Activity Award, which provided funding for three months of travel in Europe to investigate the development of contemporary dance before and after the Fall of the Berlin Wall. While there, she also attended Anouk Van Dijk's summer intensive to expand her individual professional development. Aline was first introduced to LEVYdance through FSU's Maggie Allesee National Center for Choreography in 2006. Aline joined LEVYdance in 2008.

Lily Dwyer (Dancer) is from Bainbridge Island, Washington, where she started dance training at age eight with Susan Thompson at the Bainbridge Dance Center. Lily went on to receive degrees in Dance and Comparative Literature from the University of California at Berkeley where she toured with Bay Area Repertory Dance, and worked with Christopher Dolder, Janice Garrett, Joe Goode, Anne Westwick, and Ellis Wood. Lily is a founding member of LEVYdance. When not dancing, she she can be found teaching vinyasa yoga in yoga studios, to her private clients, and at a women's shelter in Berkeley.

Brooke Gessay (Dancer) was born and raised in San Diego, California and studied ballet under Janice Lee and modern dance under Carol Mead. While earning her BA in Dance and English/Creative Writing at Connecticut College, she had the honor of working with Dan Wagoner, Eddie Taketa, Jeremy Nelson, and David Dorfman. Brooke has traveled to Vietnam, China, and Italy to do culture exchange through dance, and has performed with Weird Al Yankovic, Malashock Dance, and the San Diego Opera. She currently serves youth as a Senior Teaching Artist and Artist Mentor with Performing Arts Workshop, and serves adults as a Life Coach. Brooke joined LEVYdance in 2004.

Christopher Hojin Lee (Dancer) is from Pasadena , California , and in 2002 graduated from the University of California at Berkeley with a B.A. in Art Practice and Dance. Christopher has performed with Bay Area Repertory Dance and Charles Anderson's Company C. He started working with LEVYdance in 2002.

Scott Marlowe (Dancer) grew up in the East Bay. He began his dance training at the Booker T. Washington High School for the Performing and Visual Arts in Dallas, Texas. Scott holds a B.F.A. in Dance from the University of Texas in Austin where he worked extensively with Holly Williams, a founding member of the Mark Morris Dance Group, touring to New York and the Edinburgh Fringe Festival. He has also performed with Sharir and Bustamante Danceworks and with site-specific choreographer Sally Jacques. Scott joined LEVYdance in 2005.
