LEVYdance is happy to announce our 7th annual Summer Intensive
June 25-29, 2012, 10am-4pm, daily

The LEVYdance Summer Intensive trains dancers through a comprehensive approach that focuses on technique, partnering, composition, repertory and personal development.
LEVYdance technique concentrates on the principles of momentum, weight, attack and detail.
Composition exercises will provide each participant the opportunity to source original movement and discover a personal approach to creation.
LEVYdance Partnering plays with momentum and weight to create new physical and intentional relationships with two or more dancers in space.
Personal development exercises investigate awareness and presence, bringing together who we are as dancers and who we are as individuals, fostering a richer and more authentic performance experience.
TUITION is $375.
We are offering the following Early Bird Specials: $325 if you register by March 19
$350 if you register by April 16

Exciting Professional Performance Opportunity
This year LEVYdance is able to offer an incredible opportunity to perform with the company. As part of the Dance/USA 2012 Annual Conference, LEVYdance will be presenting two performances of its critically acclaimed piece ROMP on Friday, June 29th at 7:00pm and 9:00pm.
Summer Intensive students interested in gaining professional performance experience with LEVYdance must be available for rehearsals starting Saturday and Sunday, June 23rd and 24th, and each evening following the intensive 4-6:30pm Monday through Thursday, and through both performances on Friday.
Steps to Audition:
Please fill out the LEVYdance Summer Intensive Application and indicate your interest in performing with the company.
Learn the material on the video clips below and record yourself doing the material (be sure to follow the specific filming instructions for each). Upload your complete audition video to either Vimeo or YouTube and email your link(s) to audition@levydance.org with "Your Name, SI ROMP Audition" in the subject line no later than Monday, March 19th. We will be getting back to interested students by April 16th.

Please film yourself dancing the phrase to the music in a large enough space that we can see your entire body clearly throughout the phrase. GESTURES
Please learn the series of gestures in this video. Film yourself doing this series seated at a table with the camera facing you from the other side of the table. Communicate directly with the camera as you gesture, as though it were someone sitting opposite from you at the table. Note: Bring your unique self to these gestures.
