Intern with LEVYdance

LEVYdance seeks motivated individuals to fill internship positions. Qualified individuals should be creative, detailed oriented, responsible, self-motivated, forward thinking and passionate. Positions require a six month commitment of varying hours per week in exchange for free classes and rehearsal space at the company's studio – Studio Gracia, in addition to a scholarship to the 2012 LEVYdance Summer Intensive.


Arts Administration

Position works along all areas of managing a dance company. Intern will work closely with the General Manager out of the LEVYdance office & dance studio at least 10 hours per week. We can focus the internship based on applicant's interested, but tasks will not be limited to one area.

Marketing: Intern will be trained and work through the planning, research and basic functions of promoting a professional dance company including, but not limited to, generating publicity & updating content on facebook, youtube, basic web design, and editing video footage & press materials for release.

Development: Intern will work closely with the General Manager out of the LEVYdance office & dance studio and at special events. Intern will be trained and work through various development tasks associated with operating and funding a professional dance company. Duties include grant research & proofreading, database maintenance, donor relations & events, and writing sponsorship proposals.


Artistic and Production

Position works directly with the Artistic Director out of the LEVYdance office and dance studio at least 10 hours per week. Ideal candidates should have a keen interest in all aspects involved with creating and producing art for a professional dance company to offer general personal assistance to the Artistic Director along all areas of the organization. Intern should possess the confidence and capability to accomplish any task at hand. Duties include, but are not limited to: helping prepare for & run rehearsals; prepare, capture & organize creative research and rehearsal video footage & notes; maintaining the production loft and organize repertory materials like costumes and tech bibles as well as help in the production of our quarterly Salons and company performances. Candidates must be available during some company rehearsals (Tues. 2-6pm, Wed. 10:30am-2:30pm, Friday 2-6pm) and the week of the performance Nov. 17-20th at Z Space.
