Choreography: Benjamin Levy New Media Design: Mary Franck Music:Jeremy Zuckerman Lighting Design: Lucas Krech Premiere: Dance Place, Washington, D.C. Length: 50 Minutes
Everyone Intimate Alone Visibly, by Artistic Director and Choreographer Benjamin Levy of LEVYdance is an interactive performance experience investigating surveillance, separation, access and intimacy.
Everyone Intimate Alone Visibly is an exploration of instant-access communication as both moderator and interefence in human connectivity. Audiences areinvited to move with LEVYdance through an active space where captured motion, interactive video, and soundscape surrounds the audience and performance space, blurring the line between participant and observer.
LEVYdance transformed the alley outside its home studio into a custom framework for its 2008 Home Season. Three custom-designed stages connected by catwalks created a unique urban performance space that surrounded the audience with dance. The company presented Cirrus, Wake, Physics and NuNu against the backdrop of the graffiti, street lamps, concrete, and city scape.

And though I did not experience their pain, my ancestor's experiences have been stored
in my cells. This project is birthed from a desire to investigate their history within my
own body. I wish to begin from my personal experiences, sparking an exploration of
how past, specifically traumatic and life-altering experiences, can be encoded in our
bodies and passed down through generations.
--Benjamin Levy
